F.M. Alexander (1869 – 1955), was an Australian actor who, during the process of solving his own vocal difficulties, discovered principles and practices that had the power to bring about improvement in a person’s general condition and a higher quality of performance in all the different human activities.
For over a hundred years, the Alexander Technique has brought lasting benefits to many people and has evolved into one of the most powerful tools available today for personal growth and development.
As with many other disciplines, over the years, the Alexander Technique has divided into many schools of thought with regard to doctrine and methodology. The ITM (Interactive Teaching Method) approach to teaching the Alexander Technique was created by Dr. Donald L. Weed, D.C., over 30 years ago, and is one of the most innovative and effective ways of teaching this work.
